HOW TO PLAY
Easier to explain than to get right.
A real person, no name, no clues. Politician, scammer or both? Three buttons, no timer.
Every correct answer adds up. Miss one and the run ends.
Many of them held public office AND ended up convicted. For them only the BOTH button counts: answer politician or scammer and you miss.
Seriously: we only label someone a scammer (or «both») when there is a final, documented conviction, with a source behind every reveal. If you spot a mistake, report it.
Frequently asked questions
+What is Politician or Scammer?
A free online quiz game. You get the photo of a real person and have to guess whether they are a politician, someone convicted of fraud or corruption, or both at the same time.
+Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free and there is no sign-up: open the page and play. Your best streak is stored in your own browser, never on a server.
+How do you decide who counts as a scammer?
Only people with a final, documented criminal conviction carry the scammer label. Open investigations, trials and dismissed cases are never presented as convictions: they appear separately, labelled with their real status.
+Where do the photos and the information come from?
From public sources with a documented licence — mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. After each answer you get a direct link to the source in your own language.
+Can I play with the politicians of my own country?
Yes. The countries page lets you play with the faces of a single country, from Spain and Mexico to Italy, Brazil, India or South Korea.
+Something is wrong. Can I get it fixed?
Yes, and it takes priority. Use the report form: we hide the disputed content while we review it, and correct or remove it if the error is confirmed.
